Abstract:Due to the long transmission distance and complex meteorological conditions along ±1100 kV UHVDC transmission line, there is icing area and polluted area, which is the difficult problem in the research field of external insulation of ±1100 kV DC transmission projects. Based on the research results of full-scale icing flashover characteristics in China Electric Power Research Institute, the insulator type and insulator number of ±1100 kV DC transmission line in heavy icing area are analyzed. The insulation configuration scheme based on the annual equivalent salt density and the saturated equivalent salt density is recommended, and at the same time, the influence of icing flashover voltage on multiple insulator strings in parallel is discussed.
